2017 Kepe Garnacha

2017 Kepe Garnacha

Intense Spanish red with a bark that’s bigger than its bite

Garnacha grapes are originally from Spain but made the jump to France, where they became known as Grenache. Bodegas Luis Alegre, an estate that borders a protected national forest, makes Kepe Garnacha from grapes grown near Valencia in the Utiel-Requena region of eastern Spain. This wine has a dark color with really intense aromas of blueberries, cherries, plums, cranberries, red apple skin, and a little bit of peppery spice. Its bark is bigger than its bite, and the palate is clean, dry, and fruity—it’s polished, it’s refined, it doesn’t lose body.
